Health and Safety Manager

Salary: £49.204 to £51,270 (appointment at the bottom of the band)
Location: Merthyr Tydfil - Some hybrid
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours of Work: Full time - 4 Day working week trial

This is a Permanent, Full time - 4 Day working week trial vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

About You

Our ideal candidate is committed to providing the highest standard of Health and Safety support to our colleagues, tenants, and partners. You will have well rounded and relevant experience in Corporate and Landlord Health and Safety and a track record of embedding a safety first culture.

You enjoy collaborating with others to ensure success and think strategically, taking a corporate view. You’re someone who champions their team’s successes and possesses strong leadership skills, with the ability to support and coach the team where necessary.

 

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll play a large part in ensuring that we have robust and best practice risk management and safety procedures and precautions in-place and complied with across MVH. You will take the lead in managing our Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) and our ISO45001 accreditation.

You’ll be a dedicated port-of-call for all H&S matters within MVH and will provide a range of support including compliance with all H&S legislation and regulations, investigations, and will be responsible for taking appropriate action on adverse events, accidents and near misses.

You’ll conduct and review routine audits, inspections and be responsible for implementing all appropriate changes to support MVH to keep our workplace, colleagues and homes as safe as possible.

As a strong leader, you’ll embed H&S practices, policies & procedures across the teams in a range of methods including designing H&S training programmes, communicating changes in legislation, and lead and facilitate effective H&S committees, tenant safety forums and any other safety related groups.

You’ll be an active member of our Strategic Leadership Team and will be required to contribute to the constructive management of our mutual.
